About Committee

The Legal Committee supports AIEI’s mission by addressing the legal implications of AI across industries and jurisdictions.  We bring together legal experts, policy advisors and technology specialists to examine risks, close regulatory gaps, and propose practical  legal tools. Our goal is to help organizations and governments align innovation with legal responsibility. The committee also plays a key  role in interpreting evolving AI laws and supporting ethical compliance globally.

We continuously monitor and interpret AI-related legislation and policy proposals across regions. Our experts analyze their implications and provide actionable guidance for members.

We develop clear principles, frameworks and compliance recommendations tailored for real-world AI. Our work helps our active member organizations implement best practices to stay ahead of the competitors.

We deliver regular updates on key legal developments and regulatory changes, translating complex laws into practical guidance. Members gain access to expert insights and recommendations.

He leads legal strategy and builds practical AI governance, privacy, and security compliance programs aligned with ISO 27001/27701, ISO 9001, SOC 2, etc. Taras is a licensed Ukrainian attorney with 13+ years of international work across the U.S. and EU. He has advised private equity funds on M&A and on commercial, regulatory, and governance issues at their portfolio companies across sectors, with a focus on technology.

An experienced attorney with 15+ years of practice in commercial and contract law, employment law, civil litigation and highly regulated sectors such as pharma and medical technologies. He advises local and international businesses on complex disputes, risk management and strategic corporate matters. He is a recognised voice in LegalTech and AI regulation. His article “AI the Lawyer? LegalTech, Regulation and the Future of the Legal Profession” was published in the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice, analysing how AI is reshaping the legal profession.

Roba specializes in intellectual property law with a strong focus on the intersection of AI and IP. With nearly 20 years of experience advising major global brands and working with international IP bodies, her current work centers on developing AI-powered IP solutions. She is particularly interested in shaping legal frameworks that promote innovation while ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in AI.

A practicing attorney with over two decades of experience in civil, commercial, and human rights law. He holds a Master of Law (LL.M.) from the University of Ljubljana, with a focus on the right to a fair trial within a reasonable time. The Slovenian Bar Association recognizes him as a specialist in civil and commercial law and human rights law.

Oleksii has extensive experience in legal practice, focusing on commercial, intellectual property, and IT law (2004–2024, Ukraine), and has been engaged in research on intelligent and knowledge-based systems since 2024 in the USA. Their work also encompasses continuing legal education and professional training for lawyers. Areas of Expertise: Legal practice with a focus on commercial, intellectual property, and IT law (2004–2024, Ukraine); research of intelligent and knowledge-based systems (since 2024, USA).

Head of Human Rights Educational Guild

A Portuguese lawyer specialising in economic criminal law, digital evidence, and cross-border judicial cooperation. He has extensive experience in complex financial crime cases and has contributed to European projects on pre-trial detention and procedural safeguards. His current research and professional interests focus on the ethical and legal implications of artificial intelligence, particularly in the fields of healthcare and criminal justice.

Janis holds an interdisciplinary PhD in Computer Science, awarded best data protection thesis by the Council of Europe. Before the Law Society, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Alan Turing Institute and a Research Fellow at the Open Data Institute.

Janis leads developments in data protection, cybersecurity, AI, and technology to support the legal profession. Janis holds an interdisciplinary PhD in Computer Science, awarded best data protection thesis by the Council of Europe. Before the Law Society, she was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Alan Turing Institute and a Research Fellow at the Open Data Institute.

Andrii has over 10 years of experience in the legal field, serving as a Junior Partner and Head of the AI & IT Law Practice at Barbashyn Law Firm. He also acts as an AI Expert for the AI Sandbox initiative by the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Startup Fund.

With a background in finance, she applies her expertise to dispute resolution and develops skills in commercial law, corporate governance, and financial and tech regulation. Elected to the Committee of the Conférence du Jeune Barreau de Luxembourg, she supports young lawyers and fosters collegiality.

Olha has over 17 years of professional experience and is a qualified attorney with a PhD, specializing in law and emerging technologies. She previously served as Head of the Expert Group on Digital Innovations and as Legal Advisor for the U-Residency Project at Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation. She co-authored the Digital Economy section of the WIN WIN Innovation Strategy and organizes the Digital Lawyers educational series.

Experienced advocate with 20+ years in dispute resolution, banking and financial law. A leading expert in crypto-compliance, virtual asset regulation and blockchain governance. Advocate, Vice-President of the National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine

Amisha focuses on how human behavior shapes the design and deployment of Emotional AI, with a particular interest in its cultural, ethical, social, and legal implications. Her work spans emerging tech regulation, sustainability, and data privacy. She holds an LLM in Intellectual Property and Technology Law from the National University of Singapore and a law degree from O.P. Jindal Global University, where she also worked as a teaching and research assistant.

Research Analyst at The Pranava Institute

Master of Law with over 35 years of experience, including 15 years as an attorney specializing in human rights and 10 years as a first-instance judge in Ukraine. From 2018 to 2022, trained judicial candidates and led seminars on domestic and gender-based violence. Combines legal practice with a director role in financial services, overseeing operations, compliance, and risk management.
