AIEI Officially Publishes Version 1.0 of the Declarative Principles for Ethical AI

The AI Ethics & Integrity International Association (AIEI) is proud to announce the official release of Version 1.0 of our Declarative Principles for Ethical AI!
This milestone is the result of a truly global effort. Experts from eight countries and across industries—including technology, healthcare, finance, education, and civil society—came together to shape a shared vision for ethical AI. Over 30 specialists contributed their knowledge and experience, making this framework a real reflection of diverse perspectives, real-world challenges, and future needs.
How We Developed the Principles
The journey to Version 1.0 began with a clear and ambitious goal: to create a set of universal, practical ethical guidelines that companies, organizations, and professionals worldwide can stand behind.
We started by analyzing the current legal landscape across different jurisdictions, from light-touch recommendations to binding regulations like the AI Act. We also reviewed over ten major international frameworks—including the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (2021), OECD AI Principles (2019), European Commission’s Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI (2021), the AI Act, the White House OSTP Blueprint for an AI Bill of Rights (2022), the AI Action Summit Declaration (2025), etc..
Importantly, we didn’t just rely on existing documents. We gathered insights directly from industry leaders, understanding the challenges companies face when trying to operate responsibly across different markets. By combining regulatory analysis, global frameworks, and real-world feedback, we were able to draft principles that are both ethically strong and practically applicable.
We then opened the draft for public discussion, holding webinars, roundtables, and consultations to gather even more perspectives. This collaborative process allowed us to refine and finalize a set of principles that balance ambition with practicality.
Why These Principles Matter
Today, AI is evolving faster than laws and regulations can keep up. Companies working internationally often struggle with inconsistent standards and expectations.
Our Declarative Principles for Ethical AI offer a clear, voluntary framework that organizations can adopt to demonstrate their commitment to ethical AI development now, without waiting for global regulation to catch up.
By endorsing these principles, companies and individuals show they are committed to transparency, responsibility, respect for human rights, sustainability, and the long-term public good.
What’s Next?
Publishing Version 1.0 is just the beginning. We are actively testing the principles in real-world applications and remain open to ongoing discussion and feedback.
Moving forward, AIEI’s next major focus is to deepen our work within key industries. Different sectors—such as healthcare, finance, education, and public services—face unique risks and responsibilities when it comes to AI. Our next step is to develop more detailed, sector-specific principles while building on the solid universal foundation we’ve established.
Stay tuned—there’s much more ahead. Together, we can ensure that AI develops in ways that truly benefit everyone.
