AIEI at the EYBA International Conference in Rome: Legal AI, Strategic Partnerships, and the Role of Young Lawyers

AIEI at the EYBA International Conference in Rome: Legal AI, Strategic Partnerships, and the Role of Young Lawyers

AIEI at the EYBA International Conference in Rome: Legal AI, Strategic Partnerships, and the Role of Young Lawyers

The AI Ethics and Integrity International Association (AIEI) was honored to participate in the international conference hosted by our strategic partner, the European Young Bar Association (EYBA), held in Rome. Central themes of the conference included current challenges within the legal profession, particularly emphasizing the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI).

Beyond engaging in focused panel discussions and insightful conversations with international peers, AIEI President Sergiy Barbashyn was invited to address the EYBA General Assembly. In his remarks, Sergiy highlighted AIEI’s ongoing initiatives at the intersection of AI and legal innovation, emphasizing the Association’s commitment to:

  • Collaborating with organizations involved in both developing and implementing AI technologies.
  • Supporting legal professionals who play crucial roles across the AI ecosystem, from advising during early-stage development to facilitating AI integration within organizations and offering specialized AI-related legal consultancy.

Sergiy underscored the importance of legal expertise in areas such as data management, privacy protection, ethical standards, and regulatory compliance. He emphasized that the legal community, including young lawyers, actively contributes to shaping responsible AI governance rather than remaining passive observers.

During the event, AIEI and EYBA further strengthened their partnership. EYBA will now hold an official seat on AIEI’s Legal Committee, directly contributing to the development of legal and regulatory guidelines within the association.

Moving forward, Sergiy identified two primary collaboration pathways:

  1. Enhancing AIEI’s ecosystem through targeted legal expertise, which includes developing ethical AI standards, participating in specialized discussions, and supporting key events.
  2. Assisting legal businesses through dedicated AI expertise, offering guidance on tool selection, technical integration, and strategic preparedness for future technological developments.

We are particularly encouraged by the interest from Italian law firms that have expressed their intent to explore deeper cooperation with AIEI. Our goal is to expand these strategic legal partnerships across multiple countries. Through collaboration with local law firms, we aim not only to stay abreast of national regulatory developments but also to establish a robust network dedicated to the responsible and ethical implementation of AI in the legal and energy sectors.

If your firm is interested in contributing to this innovative and ethically-driven AI ecosystem, we invite you to reach out to discuss potential collaboration.

Together, we can shape the future of legal AI.
